1. Information We Collect
WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY
NYC Explorer AI collects only the information needed to make your trip planning work. We do not collect unnecessary data, and everything you save is marked creator-only so only you can see it.
Name
IF YOU CREATE AN ACCOUNTYour display name helps personalize your saved trips and itineraries. You can use a nickname if you prefer. This is only collected if you create an account.
Email Address
ACCOUNT & SUPPORTWe collect your email to create your private account, sync your saved places across devices, and respond to support requests. We never use it for spam.
Approximate Location
ONLY WITH YOUR PERMISSIONWith your explicit permission, we access approximate location to show attractions near you and give turn-by-turn walking directions. Location is used only to provide nearby attractions and directions. You can disable it anytime in device settings.
Saved Trips and Favorites
YOUR PRIVATE CONTENTWhen you save attractions, restaurants, itineraries, and trip items, we store them securely. This data stays private to your account and is never shared publicly or with other users.
Device Information
PERFORMANCE ONLYWe collect basic device information for app performance, such as device type, operating system version, and crash logs. This helps us fix bugs and improve load times. No advertising identifiers are collected.

3. Data Sharing and Selling
OUR STRONGEST COMMITMENT
USER DATA IS NEVER SOLD.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We never share your name, email, location history, or saved trips with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for their own marketing purposes.
The only limited sharing that may occur is:
- With essential service providers who help us host the app and store your data securely, bound by strict confidentiality.
- When required by law, to comply with a valid legal process or to protect safety.
- With your explicit consent, for example if you ask us to share an itinerary via email.
4. Location Data
PRECISELY LIMITED USE
Location is used only to provide nearby attractions and directions.
Approximate location is collected only with your permission. You will see a system prompt asking to allow location access. You can choose Allow Once, Allow While Using App, or Deny.
If you allow it, we use it solely to:
- Show you attractions, restaurants, and free things near your current location
- Provide walking directions and estimated distance to places you want to visit
- Improve ordering of results so closer options appear first
We do not track your location in the background, we do not store a history of your movements, and we do not share your live location with anyone. You can revoke permission anytime in your phone Settings > Apps > NYC Explorer AI > Location.
5. Data Security
PROTECTED AT EVERY LAYER
The app uses secure encryption to protect user information.
We protect your data with:
- Encryption in transit: All data sent between your device and our servers uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2+ encryption.
- Encryption at rest: Your account data and saved trips are encrypted at rest in our database.
- Creator-only access: We use row-level security so your saved places, restaurants, itineraries and trip items are visible only to your account. Other users cannot see them and we do not expose them publicly.
- No ad trackers: The app contains no third-party advertising SDKs or cross-site trackers.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we apply industry best practices and continuously review our protections. If you believe your account may be compromised, contact us immediately at support@nycexplorerai.com.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
YOU CAN DELETE ANYTIME
Users can request deletion of their account and data.
We keep your data only as long as you have an active account or as needed to provide the service:
- Saved places, restaurants, itineraries, and trip items are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Device logs for performance are automatically deleted after 90 days.
- Account data is deleted within 30 days of your deletion request.
HOW TO REQUEST DELETION
Email support@nycexplorerai.com with subject line "Delete My Account and Data" from the email address associated with your account. Include your account email. We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days. You can also delete individual saved items directly in the Saved tab.
7. Your Rights
CONTROL YOUR INFORMATION
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information, like your display name.
- Deletion: Delete your account and associated data at any time.
- Location control: Turn location permission on or off anytime in your device settings.
- Opt-out: Turn off optional analytics in app settings where available.
8. Children's Privacy
NYC Explorer AI is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@nycexplorerai.com and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top and, where required, provide notice in the app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
10. Acceptance Required
BEFORE ACCOUNT CREATION

Users must accept the Privacy Policy before creating an account. When you tap "Create Account" or "Sign In" in NYC Explorer AI, you will be asked to read and accept this Privacy Policy. If you do not accept, you can continue using the app without an account, but you will not be able to save trips or favorites.
